18th Century Fashionable Gown c. 1775-1785


Please measure the widest point of the bust in stays when ordering.

Suitable for late 1770s-1780s, this gown needs to be made in silk or lightweight cotton fabrics. Fine pleating of the gown skirts release into poufs tied from the inside in the polonaise style or left free. The back of the bodice is pleated to fit the body. Petticoat instructions and a pattern for a bum roll are included. Complete directions with color photographs will walk you through the process using 18th century construction.

Fabric Requirement: Gown- 5 yards of 54"wide fabric, Petticoat-3 yards 54" wide, fabric. Bumroll- 1/2 yard linen fabric. If you plan on elaborate trimming an additional yard of fabric is recommended.

Included are a dozen pins, 1 & 1/2" long and a documentation card with the details of the original gown.
