4oz. Skein, 2-Ply Yarn
Red wool stockings must have been very rare during the second half of the 18th century since none have been found in runaway ads. Knit caps were often knit of red wool however. An ad cited in Wenches, Wives and Servant Girls The Providence Gazette of 1772, described "RAN away . . . a Mulatto Man . . . he wears a Felt Hat, or red Cap" from personal communication with Mike Barbieri.
