100% wool, 60" wide, 15-18 oz.
Many different shades of brown wool were common throughout the 17th and into the 19th centuries. This wool has a full nap on one side and would make a very nice man's coat, waistcoat, jacket or woman's cloak. For example advertised in The Virginia Gazette of 1770 "COMMITTED to Richmond county gaol, two white men, taken up upon suspicion of being runaways. The one. . . had on a light brown broadcloth coat". Unbleached 35/2 linen thread will blend in nicely when hand sewing this fabric.
