Bedgown Kit, Tow and Linen Stripe WLN 541 With Pattern

Tow and Linen Stripe Bedgown Kit

Included in this kit are:
Larkin and Smith Bed Gown c. 1760s-1770s Pattern
3 yards tow and linen stripe WLN 541
2 yards unbleached linen for lining
spool beige 80/3 linen thread

Because this is put together for a class in which you draft your own pattern no directions are required. Tow and linen stripe was quite frequently described in American colony runaway ads for gowns, shirts and petticoats. For example in The New-Jersey Journal in 1779 "Ran away . . .  an apprentice girl . . .  had on and took away . . .  three striped short gowns, one of linsey, the other two of tow and linen" cited in Wives, Slaves, and Servant Girls.

For extra large or larger the Kannik's Korner Bedgown pattern will be substituted until the Larkin and Smith larger sizes become available.
