Diaper cloth was most commonly used to make table cloths, table napkins and baby's clouts (called diapers today in the U.S. and nappy in rest of the English speaking world) in the 17th to 19th centuries. Occasionally diaper cloth was used to make men’s waistcoats and breeches, women’s petticoats and pockets, and children's caps and pincloths.
