Dutch Linen Tape

Starting at: $1.25

Linen tape, finely woven in a natural color is a strong tape which takes to dyeing when necessary.

Use the 3/4" (19 mm) for binding the tops of petticoats it will hold both pleats or gathered edge well. It's best to use a narrower tape for the ties although you can allow enough to tie at the sides to close the pocket slits. The bottom of linen petticoats can also be bound with this tape.

Use the 1/2" (12.7 mm) for binding hussifs, pockets and stays as well as the ties for self bound pockets, petticoats and aprons.

Use the 3/8" (10 mm) for tying pockets, aprons and petticoats when self binding the top. This method is preferred over using a wider tape to bind the top and tie.

The 1/4" (6.35 mm) may be used for stay lacing, attaching shanked buttons, or lacing the back of breeches. This size also works well as ties for the back of a waistcoat (for those waistcoats that may need taking in).
