Description

Cotton tape isn’t found in original garments before c. 1830s. However, if there’s one place to lower the price of a garment often it lies with the tape. For example 1/4″ cotton tape used to attach buttons is usually completely enclosed within the lining of the garment so that it’s all concealed. Narrow tape is also used to tie the back of the trousers or breeches & in to tie petticoats & aprons where few will see it.
