BCS 129 Pair of Shoe Buckles

This buckle is dated as c. 1775, will accommodate 1 1/4″ strap and has overall dimensions of 1 3/4″ by 3″. The original was found with a bronze ring and a silver Sheffield plate. In New Jersey in 1776 a male servant ran away with “good shoes and plated buckles carved.”
