Gold Sword Knot

$29.95

This sword knot is copied from numerous 18th century artwork of British officers from the 2nd half of the 18th century. Unfortunately, there are few pictures that show the sword knot of provincial officers although there are a couple. Despite having silver lace on their coats, Captain Charles William Le Geyt of the 3rd Regiment of Foot, Grenadier Captain William Crosbie of the 38th Regiment of Foot, c. 1774, & an unknown officer of the 2nd Regiment of Foot (Queen’s Royal Regiment) all wear gold sword knots with 3 red lines very similar to the sword knot worn by General William Brattle in 1756 who has gold lace on his coat. These are also flat as apposed to round knots.
